Little Vumbura is located on an island in a private reserve in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta.  It is in the same region as it’s sister camp, Vumbura Plains Camp.  This camp is part of a community participation plan, that aims to bring the communities who live around the Okavango Delta into the tourism mainstream.  Little Vumbura is surrounded by water, lying close to large rivers.

Surrounded as it is by water and lying close to large rivers, water based activities are the focus, with mokoros (dug out canoes) traversing the floodplains under the guidance of experienced polar – (guides) Open 4×4 Land Rovers allow guests to get close to animals in the savannah areas. Walking safaris (which are on request) around the islands give the opportunity to enjoy Africa from a different perspective. The game viewing is consistently good all year with lion, leopard elephant, sable and buffalo along with extensive plains game providing an excellent all-round game experience in this remote corner of the Okavango.
